General Motors Corp. is recalling about 300,000 Chevrolet HHR SUVs in the United States to fix a storage bin door that failed to remain closed during government testing. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on its Web site Monday that the recall involves HHR SUVs from the 2006-08 model years.
During a test last spring, the glove compartment box in the top center of the instrument panel failed to remain closed in line with a federal safety standard. GM will send owners a latch reinforcement.
